About Brian
FROM COMBAT MISSIONS TO LIFE'S TOUGHEST BATTLES
Brian Flanigan spent more than 25 years leading in some of the world's most demanding environments as a United States Air Force Lieutenant Colonel, AC-130 Gunship Commander, and leadership instructor. During his military career, he flew more than 450 combat missions and accumulated over 2,200 combat flight hours, making critical decisions when the stakes could not have been higher. He spent his career in the no-fail environment of special operations aviation serving as an AC-130 Aircraft Commander, Instructor Navigator, and MQ-9 Pilot, Brian learned that success isn't about a perfect plan—it's about working as a crew and adjusting fire to hit the targets that matter most to you.
But Brian's greatest lessons about leadership didn't come from the cockpit.
They came from adversity.
As a cancer survivor, Brian faced a different kind of battle—one that tested his resilience, mindset, and determination in ways no military training ever could. Through that experience, he discovered that leadership is not defined by rank or title. It is revealed by how we respond when life doesn't go according to plan.
Today, Brian combines hard-earned lessons from combat, leadership, and personal adversity to help organizations navigate uncertainty, build resilient teams, overcome obstacles, and lead with courage when it matters most.
Whether speaking to corporate teams, military audiences, leadership conferences, or organizations navigating change, Brian delivers practical lessons that inspire action and create lasting impact.
His message is simple:
"You can't control every challenge you face. You can choose how you lead through it."
